Kenshiro, the Fist of the Northstar. A sacred and deadly martial art from China that focused all of an attacker's strength on nerve and chi flow points and destroyed the oponent\'s body from inside. The result was usually an exploding enemy that surprisingly never seems to fase other villians from attacking Kenshiro.
Anyway, this gem of a game is based completely on the series of Hokuto Shinken/ Fist of the Northstar. It follows kenshiro throught the first 3 parts of the saga and does an incredible job of recreating the plot events, feel, and raw carnage of the show.

3D beat 'em up game that follows the storyline of the first series of the anime. Playing as Kenshiro, you will travel trough deserts, cities, and the other anime's places facing hordes of baddies with the deadly Hokuto martial arts. Sometimes against some enemies the action freezes and the player is required to press a certain combination of buttons in order to perform a special technique and kill the antagonist. The action is divided in levels, divided in many sub-chapters. At the end of each level the player is allowed to save the progresses achieved on the memory card. The game is pretty gory and fast paced. It also follows very closely the anime's storyline and uses long cutscenes (done with the game engine) to describe the plot developments. A 2 player versus mode with all the main anime characters is available after beating the single player game.
Story:
Hokuto No Ken takes place in the year 199X- the exact date is unimportant,and most probably unknown,because civilization has been all but destroyed by nuclear war.Earth is now a barren wasteland , complete with marauding mohawked motorcycle punks. With the loss of advanced weapons and technologies (such as firearms), these brigands leaders wield power through the use of martial arts whose ancient secrets give them mystical powers.
Into this lawless nightmare strides a living engine of Justice: Ken Shiro, master of a secret martial art called Hokuto Shin Ken.Ken eradicates any evildoers he comes across when they prey upon the weak.
