Menus and gameplay are in Japanese.

Panzer Front is a simulation of tank warfare, a genre not usually represented on console systems. In the game, you are able to take control of over 30 different kinds of tanks, many from the World War II era and ranging from Russian to German to American. There are also several modern tanks, as well as a small host of fantasy tanks created by the developers.

The game itself takes place during the World War II era, allowing you to take on the tole of either the driver or gunner in any of the tanks. While there is no overall campaign, there are two different modes to select. The first allows you to select the fantasy tanks, and the second requires that you use real life tanks to complete missions. Missions range from straightforward combat with enemy armored lines to more specific tasks, such as defending or destroying a bridge (depending on what side you're currently fighting for). The areas in which tanks do battle are quite large, and there are armored lines as well as infantry fighters to battle against during the course of the game.

Panzer Front bis is an updated version of the original game, released for the PlayStation in Japan on February 8, 2001. Bis (French for 'improved') features all of the game's tanks and missions, with additional tanks, ten scenarios (including one set during Operation Olympic), and a mission editor. It was due to be released in Europe in the middle of 2002, but JVC, the UK publisher, shut down its video game branch before Bis could be converted and released.

Features:
* Man a powerful WWII Panzer tank and try to change the tide of history
* Fight through 25 scenarios using one of 16 powerful tanks
* Command six bonus fantasy tanks
