Racing Lagoon is a Racing-RPG. Your earn experience for your various car parts and racing points by challenging other cars on streets modeled after the actual roadmaps of Yokohama, Japan. After winning a race, you'll get a certain amount of "Reward Points" which you can then use to take a part from your opponent's car, anything from the engine to the paint scheme. The game is broken up into 10 nights of racing, with main character Sho Akasaki trying to become the king of the underground racing scene.

2 modes of play:
1 - High speed driving rpg:
In this mode you are a driver in the Yokohama city,You can buy new componets,meet girls .You can only compete with the cars that drive with the large lights on and if you win you gain experience points to buy new componets. You drive in differents places until you reach the number one in the city.

The other thing to do on the street is to look for Events, designated by parking places. To find these, drive up to areas marked with a "P" (or a white dot on the map) and press the O button. Events can be dialog scenes,race battles, or other features.

To save your game, find a GS Milage station and park there. To complete a night, simply follow the conditions to race in the CLIMAX RACE.Winning this race enables you to move on to the next night, losing ends the game.

2 - Two Warriors battle mode:
In this mode you can drive againts the machine or another player in split sxcreen with different view modes outside and inside views similar to the ridge racer games.
