This sequel augments the style and gameplay of the 2000 PlayStation original with more characters, new arenas, and graphical enhancements. Gamers can now enter the ring as Rogue, Nightcrawler, Havok, or other new characters in addition to Wolverine, Storm, Mystique, Magneto, and the mutant heroes and villains featured in the first game.
Each character has different powers and attacks based on the Marvel Comics X-Men universe. Four different game modes are available, including the straightforward "arcade" and "versus" modes as well as a "survival" challenge and an "academy training" session taught by Professor X himself.
6 new arenas including the X-Mansion, Muir Island, an eerily lit church and Asteroid M (Magneto's Stage) plus two secret levels; and the Cerebro mode, where you can check out behind-the-scenes character sketches, costume designs and movie set sketches from the X-Men movie, makes this sequel to Mutant Academy. Also keep an eye out for Professor X himself, who teaches you the many moves available to your character in the Academy Training mode.

Wolverine, Storm, and company are back for more action in this second installment of heralded X-MEN series for the PlayStation. There are plenty of new arenas to do your fighting in, and tons of new combos and unique power attacks for each character. If you’re looking for a quick-fix, arena-style fighting experience, you might want to try Arcade mode.
Gamers with a little more time on their hands will enjoy the more comprehensive modes, like Survival and Academy Training, while those with a competitive edge will get plenty of miles out of the awesome Versus mode. Though there’s a wealth of material for fans of the comic book series to latch onto, the gameplay allows you to hop right into the action with little or no knowledge of the ongoing storyline. You’ll never quite get enough of this one game.
