A racing game set in the golden era of BMWs and Mercedes, Alfa Romeos and Bugattis, Enzo Ferrari and Sterling Moss, but with all the 3D rendering effects you would expect from a standard Playstation racer.

Putting you in the seat of some of the most well-known racing cars of the time, Mille Miglia lets you try out well well-honed Playstation 'driving' skills on some new, but old, tracks. Letting you take part in full championship mode, the game sets you about some idyllic countryside scenery in the hopes of obtaining that elusive victory.

Advised by Sterling Moss, Mille Miglia is a car racer's ultimate fantasy. The 1000 mile race takes you through Italy with the world's biggest driving names and classic cars.

Most people would agree that Italy is the spiritual home of racing and sports cars. The jewel in its crown is the Mille Miglia, now available to gamers on PlayStation. Often described as 'the most beautiful race in the world', it was originally held between 1927 and 1957 over 1000 miles of Italian streets and idyllic countryside. Racing car legends such as Enzo Ferrari and the Maserati brothers hand built cars to take part. Thousands would line the streets hoping to catch a glimpse of BMW's, Mercedes, Alfa Romeos and Bugattis. Not only were the cars sensational - the drivers were too. The biggest names in racing, such as Fangio, Ascari and Nuvolari, took part.

In 1955 Sir Stirling Moss set a record that was never to be broken. Driving in his Mercedes 300 SLR, he completed the course in 10 hours, 7 minutes and 48 seconds.

With his intimate knowledge of motor sport in general, and in particular the Mille Miglia, Sir Stirling Moss was the ideal person to help and advise on the development of this game. His career highlights include 16 Grand Prix wins and 194 victories from a total of 466 races. Sir Stirling Moss is a true legend of British sport. In 1990 he was inducted to the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Knighted in the New Year's honours list. His talent and experience adds as much realism as possible to what is already an immensely playable game.

In 1977, after an absence of 20 years, the Mille Miglia was resurrected. In order to keep with the great tradition and history of the race, only cars that were produced between 1927 and 1957, known as 'the golden era' of motor racing, were allowed to enter. It was a great success and now every year hundreds of participants pit their wits against the obstacles that confronted the greats like Fangio and Moss - obstacles that you must now overcome to be champion of the Mille Miglia in this fantastic PlayStation game.
