Worms World Party is an artillery game, which is a type of Turn-based strategy game. It was developed by Team17 as the seventh game in the Worms series, and was released in 2001. It was the last 2D Worms game before the series' three year stint in 3D, starting with Worms 3D.

Worms World Party is another installment in Team 17's popular Worms series of 2D combat games, featuring entertainingly animated invertebrates and compelling, turn-based action strategy. Though much of the fun comes in challenging squads of other human controlled worm warriors, Worms World Party also functions just fine as a single-player game, offering new weapons and worm abilities to add to the successful mix of complicated planning, giant explosions, and unexpected results.

At first sight, Worms World Party may seem very similar to Worms Armageddon. However, this time the game has been specially designed with multiplayer in mind. Up to six players can battle out at the same time on local networks or on the internet, using Team17 own matchmaking service, called Wormnet.

Other additions are the Wormpot, which can provide 400 gameplay variations from "Goliath Mode" to "Bleeding Worms", hundreds of new landscapes, flags and fanfares, and many single-player missions.

GAMEPLAY:
Like its predecessors, Worms World Party is a side-scrolling video game involving controlling a team of worms and using a collection of weaponry to eliminate the opposing team(s). The worms can walk and jump around and use tools such as the ninja rope and parachute to move to otherwise unreachable locations.

Features:
- Master more than 50 offbeat weapons and gadgets
- Customize individual matches with over 1,000 potential variables
- Challenge up to three friends in turn-based battles
