Jeremy McGrath Supercross '98 sets out to bring the look and feel of Supercross and Motorcross racing to your PlayStation. To ensure this, McGrath worked with the designers in creating and designing the various tracks and bikes contained within the game.
Featuring fully 3D rendered graphics, the game has over seven different indoor and outdoor tracks to compete on. Competition comes in the way of a Championship Series, Time Trial, Split-Screen or Single Race. The Championship Series consists of season competition in your attempt to become number one. If you manage to accomplish this, you will then have to race McGrath himself to claim your prize. The Time Trial is simply a race against a "ghost" image of best performance, and the Single Race allows you to learn the course designs and practice controls.
Whether or not you're racing indoors or outdoors, you will have to keep an eye out for weather and terrain. To capture the true essence of the sport, all kinds of terrain has been included: mud, dirt, gravel, and even water. When outdoors, you'll have to adjust for rain, snow and other obstructive weather conditions. It isn't always a sunny day at the Motorcross racetrack!
Jeremy McGrath Supercross '98 comes equipped with a course editor. This gives you the ability to create your very own tracks built from your imagination. Everything that has been included in the game is at your disposal -- hairpin turns, objects, jumps, and varying terrain. Up to 25 created tracks can be saved on a memory card. Additionally, the game supports analog control, features multiple camera angles, and can be played with one or two people (two via split screen).
