Memories Off 2nd: Yuki Hotaru bonus prequel story to Memories Off 2nd. While Memories Off and Memories Off 2nd are ports from Dreamcast/PlayStation releases, the two games were never release for PlayStation 2 as standalone. Furthermore, Memories Off: Pure is a port from Neo Geo Pocket original platform with higher resolution CG and added voice-acting, also not available as standalone PC or PS2 game.
MEMORIES OFF: Tomoya Mikami is a seventeen-year-old Japanese high school student attending the Sumisora Academy. The second year of his studies begins, and he boards the train that goes to the campus. On the way, however, Tomoya encounters Yue, a childhood friend who might have developed romantic feelings towards him. The matters become further complicated when Tomoya meets an attractive new transfer student, forcing him to sort out his preferences and abandon his usual cynical approach to love.
Memories Off is a visual novel. Most of the game consists of text superimposed on still anime-style visuals. The interaction is restricted to occasional choices the player must make when prompted by the story development. Depending on these decisions the plot may advance into any of the six distinct branches, leading to different endings.
MEMORIES OFF 2ND: The second installation in the Memories Off visual novel dating simulation series featuring whole new characters with similar gameplay.
The player plays as Ken Inami, a 17 year old junior high-school student. Ken has his dreams and aspirations and would want to go to a film school. His girlfriend, Hotaru Shirakawa, is more interested in music and would like to go to a music school. They've been dating for a while, and while they thought it may last forever, their relationship hit a bump and is hanging by a thread. As Ken, you can try and save your relationship, or break up and chase after another girl. Game features many different endings, depending on the girl you end up with... or if it's the bad ending, the girl you break up in the end.
The game consists of reading text and dialogues over the background images, similar to other visual novels, with occasional choices that may branch the story. For replays, gave features fast-forward option that lets you skipped through previously read events.
MEMORIES OFF PURE: Pure is a prequel to Memories Off. The events of the game take place three years before those of the previous game, when the protagonist Tomoya Mikami was still attending middle school. The game primarily revolves around his relationships with his childhood friend Yue Imasaka and Ayaka Hizuki, whose tragic fate is mentioned in the first game.
Gameplay-wise, the prequel is identical to the preceding game, with the gameplay being reduced to occasional decision-making that influences the course of the story and ultimately leads it to different endings.
