Mahjong is a game for four players that originated in China. It was called, meaning sparrow in ancient China, which is still the name most commonly used in some southern Chinese dialects such as Cantonese and Minnan, as well as in Japanese. However, most Mandarin-speaking Chinese now call the game má jiàng.

Mahjong involves skill, strategy, and calculation, as well as a certain degree of luck (depending on the variation played, luck can be anything from a minor to a dominant factor in winning). In Asia, mahjong is also popularly played as a gambling game. In the game, each player is dealt either thirteen or sixteen tiles in a hand, depending on the variation being played. On their turn, players draw a tile and discard one, with the goal of making four or five melds (also depending on the variation) and one pair, or "head". Winning comes "on the draw" by drawing a new or discarded tile that completes the hand. Thus, a winning hand actually contains fourteen (or seventeen) tiles.

G-Taste is an erotic manga series illustrated by the artist Hiroki Yagami and serialised in Young Magazine Upper's. The "G" in "G-taste" is used symbolically as the letter between "F" (for "Fetish") and "H" (for "hentai"). The anime has been licensed in the US by Softcel Pictures. However the rights have since expired and now Critical Mass have since bought the rights. Not all of the series has been licensed as only the first five episodes have been released in the US. Episodes 6 and 7 have, to date, not been released in the US at all. An additional single episode OVA was released in 2010 bundled with the G-Best - G-Taste Best Selection compilation manga from Kodansha.

G-taste has also released a number of short films, mostly dramatisations of its comic stories. They are distinguished by realistic entourage. It has also spawned a number of computer games, including G-taste Mahjong for Arcade and PlayStation 2.

G-Taste Mahjong is the Playstation 2 version of the arcade machine by Psikyo of the year 2002. Featuring 16 anime models from Japanese bi-weekly publication Young Magazine Uppers, G-Taste pits mahjong players against buxom beauties. The limited edition of G-Taste Mahjong includes a busty bonus figure and ships in larger than normal packaging. The game features an unlockable picture gallery.

The game features 2 different game modes:
- Story mode: The player advance through the adventure winning mahjong matches.
