Star Soldier is a series of shoot 'em up video games mainly developed by Hudson Soft. Konami has owned the rights to the series since their absorption of Hudson Soft in 2012.

The first game, named Star Soldier, appeared on the MSX and NES in 1986, and the series has continued on various gaming systems. Star Soldier itself has received enhanced remakes for both the GameCube and PlayStation 2 in 2003, and a different remake for the PlayStation Portable in 2005, while the latest installment of the series was released on the Wii as a WiiWare game in 2008. In addition, Super Star Soldier, Final Soldier, Soldier Blade and Star Parodier have been re-released on the Wii's Virtual Console and on the Japanese PC Engine's Best Collection lineup for the PSP.

The Hudson Selection Vol. 1-4 are a collection of video games by Hudson Soft, released only in Japan. Each volume is an enhanced remake of the following games.

Hudson Selection Vol. 2 - Star Soldier: A budget remake of the top-down sci-fi shooter Star Soldier for next-gen consoles.

The game puts you in charge of a lone Galactic Empire starfighter as you make your way through several alien-infested stages using nothing but your reflexes and your laser weapons.

The remake replaces the original graphics with a completely polygonal engine, featuring particle effects for all weapons and a new interface. New mid-stage bosses have been added to the mix and a new close range attack has been included in your ship for added damage.

Masterpiece shooting of that FC "Star Soldier" is resurrected by the power-up increases the game system and graphics! Thorough investigation deeper and scoring system that was in the FC version, such as a hidden panel combo bonus, it is equipped with a new Time Attack 2 minutes, 5 minutes as a time attack mode, the popular the "caravan mode".
