Players lead two separate heroes through two related adventures of 3D action in Konami's 7 Blades. The large, imposing Gokurakumaru is a master of sword fighting and uses his skill and strength to wield his seven blades against those who would oppose him. The quick, agile Uri prefers stealth and ranged weapons, dismissing her enemies before they have a chance to attack her.

In 7 Blades you play as either Gokurakumaru or Yuritakes. The setting is 17th century Japan and the authorities have sent you to an island which is trying to seperate and overthrow the shogunat. It is up to you to use your special weaponry and skills to fight their ninja clan.

7 Blades is set in Japan's historically significant Sakoku isolationist period, during which a religious group comes into conflict with the government's immigration policies over the use of a small, closely guarded trading island in Nagasaki harbor. The game is influenced by a Kaizo Hayashi movie set in this period called Jipangu and Hayashi served as a project director in the development of 7 Blades.

  MANUFACTURER'S DESCRIPTION:

7 Blades is a hack 'n' slash quest set in 18th-century Japan. When the government designates Dejima as a trading post for western travellers, religious fanatics swarm the island in an attempt to keep outsiders at bay. In their mission to reclaim Dejima, players can choose between two bloodthirsty warriors; Gokuraku-Maru is the leader of a gang of bounty hunters who wields seven blades, while Pistol Oyuri is a gun-slinging female fighter and Gokuraku-Maru's true love.
