The Japan Golf Tour is a prominent golf tour. It was founded in 1973 and as of 2006 it offers the third highest annual prize fund out of the regular (that is not for seniors) men's professional tours after the PGA Tour and the European Tour. However since the early 1990s, the growth in prize money has not kept pace with that on the two larger tours.
Kattobi Golf takes a comical approach, the golf courses are placed in many unusual locations, such as the in the desert zone, beside a waterfall, or in the volcano. There are also different kinds of obstacles in each course, such as walking crabs in the waterfall stage, or running bulls in the desert zone. There are 4 play modes in the game, include Stroke, Match, Tournament and Challenge.
A colourful take on the gentleman's game with cel shaded characters looking like they hang out in Jet Set radio in their spare time. Courses are full of feel good sunshine with good variety from the temples of Japan to the outback desert. The swing system works well with a spin of the dual stick and a button press giving the game a bit of a skill factor.
