Ace private dick Kojiro Amagi and his partner in crime, government agent Marina Hojou, have collaborated on various missions throughout their respective careers. Kojiro's a hard luck detective with a thin client list while Marina is an ace agent who has solved nearly every case she has been assigned. One day while on a case, the dynamic duo stumble onto something bigger and more sinister than anything they've worked on before. Kojiro's on a picture recovery mission while Marina's on a protective custody job for a Middle Eastern ambassador's daughter. The two heroes bump into each other and decide to team up.
The game consists of flick screen animation and interactive scenarios. Players will spend most of the game searching for clues, solving puzzles and interrogating characters in the game. Commands consist of simple actions such as observe, talk and walk.
Net Village remakes the original Eve Burst Error game by enhancing the graphics, adds new scenarios and updates the game with new cinematic interludes.
You control two characters in the game: a private eye Kojiro Amagi, who has been recently thrown out of a prosperous detective agency, and a beautiful red-headed secret agent Marina Hojou. Both receive assignments that have seemingly nothing to do with each other: Kojiroh has to find a missing painting, while Marina is hired to protect the daughter of the ambassador of a fictional country Eldia. But as you progress through the game, you see that the connection between the two stories becomes evident, and get involved in a complex and dangerous political conspiracy.
The PS2 has updated graphics (especially noticeable is the more "serious", realistic style of character graphics, as opposed to the "super-deformed" animé style of the original), better event management, alternate scenarios, and more animations.
The limited edition of Eve Burst Error Plus includes an Eve Encyclopedia Plus hardcover book and a EVE Memories DVD packaged with the game in an attractive slipcase.
