Based on Upper Deck Entertainment's collectible card game, which in turn is based on a Japanese anime, Gregory Horror Show finds players trapped in a spooky mansion run by an odd-looking caretaker: a mouse with a square head. One dark and dreary night, a weary traveler seeks a night's lodging at the Gregory House, an opulent hotel whose history and décor seem to be from another era -- literally. After a chance encounter with Death itself, players soon learn their fate: cast in the role of the hapless traveler, they must collect all of the hotel patrons' souls or be forever lost in an alternate dimension.

Of course, these souls aren't quite ripe for the picking, so players will have to figure out each resident's daily routine for the perfect opportunity to strike -- preferably at the moment when they are most vulnerable. Time is an important element in the Gregory House, as each patron follows a schedule independently of the player's actions. Guests can be spied upon by looking through keyholes, but finding their particular weaknesses will take some old-fashioned detective work and puzzle solving. Once players determine a method of snatching a character's soul, they must prepare themselves for the consequences: an angry patron who will run after them in an attempt to retrieve his or her "essence." Players must then find a hiding place to avoid detection.

The main character does not have health in the traditional sense, but rather mentality points. The goal is thus not to stay alive, but to remain sane throughout the game at the risk of becoming a permanent part of the hotel's odd occupants. Guests can perform special attacks after their souls have been abducted that diminish mentality points, so it's important to keep a low profile. Players interact with their environment using a hand, which opens doors, abducts souls, and can temporarily confuse perturbed patrons. Billed by Capcom as a "4D puzzle adventure game," Gregory Horror Show has a distinctive visual style with animal characters composed of cubes, cones, and other simple shapes.

Features:
- Variety of unique characters (Character design by Naomi Iwatani, who won second place for the animated television series in the Vancouver Effects and Animation Festival (VEAF)
- Gathering souls: Players have the ability to gather souls from various guests by solving puzzles and through other actions.
- Importance of time: The game’s plot develops and the storyline twists based on time and location.
- Handy item: The handy item can be used all over the hotel and in various ways such as opening doors, stealing souls and even confusing guests coming to attack you.

  MANUFACTURER'S DESCRIPTION:

Welcome to Gregory House.
We do hope you enjoy your stay...

Have you noticed that nothing is quite as it seems? That's because this house is seriously haunted and the only way out is by collecting every lost soul that litter the many hallways. Unfortunately this isn't as easy as it sounds and you'll be doing well just to stay alive and check out. Oh, and be warned: keep your eyes open for the evil Nurse Katherine. She is very scary and will do anything to extend your stay...
