Limeiro Senkitan is a 13 episode anime that aired in Japan between January 5, 2003 and March 30, 2003. It is based on a hentai game by ELF, giving the series heavy doses of sexual innuendos as well as girls in both their underwear and fully nude (although covering themselves). It has two sequels: a second season Raimuiro Ryukitan X; and a 2 episode OVA Raimuiro Senkitan: The South Island Dream Romantic Adventure.
PLOT:
The story takes place in 1904 (37th year of the Meiji Era) during the Russo-Japanese War in which former Japanese diplomat, Shintaro Umakai, becomes the teacher of a secret group of teenage girls, the Raimu Unit, who are based on the flying battleship Amanohara. The girl's Konjiki (supernatural powers) enables them to operate unmanned mecha named Raimu against Russian Raimu units led by Grigori Rasputin who often attack the Amanohara while it is travelling towards Port Arthur for the final battle.
PLAYSTATION 2 GAME:
Known also as Ramuiro Senkitan (Lime-Colored History of War), Limeiro dabbles in revisionist narrative, convoluted themes and high energy females who tend towards grating rather than endearing. Set during the Russo-Japanese War (1904-05), the Russians have teamed up with an evil force and are amassing a mecha army in Port Arthur. Players adopt the role of Shintaro Uzmakai who serves as teacher and guardian to five Japanese girls gifted with supreme mech handling skills. Precocious and excitable, the girls prove to be a handful in more ways than one. As their guide, Shintaro trains his young charges so they can mount a preemptive strike on the armor build-up in Port Arthur before the Red Army can launch an attack on Japan.
This Elf-developed PC game is being brought to the PS2, minus adult content, by Kadokawa Shoten. You play as a fella called Shintaro during Japan's Meiji period. Once a member of the foreign ministry, you've been sent to a ship to instruct a set of girls at the ship's academy. Your goal is to unlock the girls' hidden strength (their Raimu -- or Lime) which they then call out while in battle. But will you also be able to unlock the hidden feelings that the girls have for you?
By day, you're in class with the girls, partaking in conversation in order to strengthen your relationships. To better prepare the girls for battle, you'll have to arrange an appropriate curriculum for them and make sure to earn their trust along the way. During battle, you become the commander of the girls in their fight against enemy forces. Battles feature heavy focus on elemental powers such as flame and water.
In addition to a 6800 yen standard pack, Raimurio is also available as a 8800 yen deluxe pack. Included in the deluxe pack is a DVD that features messages from the voice actresses, preview scenes that weren't used in the real game and a voice drama that plays out as you view images.
