Steady x Study: Enter a new high school as a transfer student and find your way in the halls of learning and life in general by interacting with fellow students and potential love interests. Gamers may choose to join two different clubs in school which will ultimately affect the girl that one ends up with at the conclusion of the adventure.
Idea Factory enhances the experience of the dating game somewhat by introducing an environment panning mechanism called the "Around Search View" system. When blinking arrows on the side of the screen appear, players may move the camera around and stare at new scenery instead of ogling only at a static panorama as is the case in many other dating games.. Other than this new gimmick, the gameplay is routine with lots of story laid out during conversations with classmates who pop in and out of the player's field of view. Life choices and decisions are made by clicking on options during interaction sequences when then push the story along.
Adventure game that lets you play as Makoto, a transfer student attending a school in modern day Harajuku (a trendy area of Tokyo near Shibuya and Shinjuku). You're not sure of what you want to do with your life and are given many choices, from entering the performing arts club, to going hardcore with your studies. Your choice will determine the path the game's story follows. Steady X Study makes use of the "ASV" (Around Search View) system that allows you to look around your environment. While sitting at your desk in class, you can press a button on the D-pad to look at one of the girls sitting next to you. While waiting to meet someone at the train station, you can look around and will likely find new things, including secret movies and events.
The limited edition of Steady X Study includes a 60-page art booklet and a drama CD affixed to the back page of the booklet. Sketches and full color artwork of all fourteen characters are included such as Mei, Nozumi, Reika and Haruka. The game disk and bonus items are then slipped inside a cardboard case with variant cover. The drama CD contains contributions and routines as acted out by the voice actors and actresses from the Steady X Study universe.
