Princess Holiday Korogaru Ringotei Senyaichiya is a Japanese bishojo game first released in 2002 by August for Windows. Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 versions were later released by Alchemist. Princess Holiday was adapted into two original video animation (OVA) hentais produced by Lemon Heart in 2004, the first released on March 25 and the second on May 25.
The game is a standard Japanese visual novel, with multiple paths, a multi-choice navigation and conversation system and anime-style presentation.
STORY:
The story takes place in a medieval world. The protagonist, Cliff Cloud, comes back to his hometown of Symphonia Kingdom after 3 years of wandering through the lands as a travelling bard. The very day he arrives in town, he has a chance meeting with a girl who's pursued by soldiers. He rescues her, and since she's searching for a place to accommodate for a while, he introduces her to his family and friends at the Korogaru Ringo Tei (= Rolling Apple Pavilion) inn.
That girl, who named herself Leticia Apple, quickly turns out to be the Princess of Symphonia Kingdom, Leticia la mew Symphonia. She slipped out of the castle in order to see the outside world and the lives of common people. After a few discussions with the protagonists, her father, the benevolent King Worsel, allows her to stay and work at Rolling Apple for a few weeks, as a training as the future Queen.
And thus starts the story, as you'll see the lives of the people of Rolling Apple. As Cliff, will you follow Leticia's training and form a relationship with her, or will you interact with the other girls? Choose you own adventure, and get to discover their stories, as well as the mysterious background behind Cliff, and the secrets around Symphonia Kingdom!
CHARACTERS:
- Cliff Cloud:
Cliff is the protagonist. He travels round the world as a wandering minstrel and comes home for the first time in three years. He and Eleanor trained together in swordsmanship under Rachel's father Howard, but he abandoned it for some reason.
- Leticia la mew Symphonia:
Leticia is the princess of Symphonia. Cliff rescues her by accident when she flees from her guards. She starts to work at the Korogaru Ringotei pub. She gives the false name Leticia Apple when she meets someone who does not know she is a princess.
- Shilphy Cloud:
Shilphy is Cliff's younger sister. She is a probationary sister at a church run by her parents, and she handles the church alone because her parents are away on propagation. She also teaches children in the slums, and they like her very much.
- Eleanor Fortworth:
Eleanor is a childhood friend of Cliff and Shilphy, and is a knight who guards Leticia. She is good at swordsmanship, and she regrets that Cliff abandoned it. She is a daughter of a dressmaker and is also good at sewing.
- Rachel Harvest:
Rachel is the draw at the Korogaru Ringotei pub. She acts as older sister for Cliff, Shilphy and Eleanor, and she is a favorite with regular customers. She hates the royalty and the nobility, so Leticia keeps Leticia's social status secret for her.
- Lapis Mercurius Freya:
Lapis is a regular customer at Korogaru Ringotei. She wears a mantle anda hat, and lives clonear the lake. So she is also called "Witch beside Lake" and is seen to fly on a broom. She has extensive knowledge, but knows but little of love affairs.
- Diana Peschka holly Eryngii:
Diana is a daughter of the Prime Minister Eryngii. At the ball, she falls in love with Cliff at first. Later, she works at Korogaru Ringotei with Leticia. Though she was a very minor character in the original PC version, she was popular with fans, so her scenario was added in the console versions.
The game's predominantly female cast includes more than a dozen characters, all with their own voices. The package includes the actual adventure game on DVD and a bonus CD with music from the game. Available only in Japan.
