The Dekotora or Decotora, an abbreviation for "decoration truck", is a type of extravagantly decorated truck in Japan. Commonly displaying neon or ultraviolet lights, extravagant paints and stainless or golden exterior parts, on both on the exterior and the interior. Dekotora may be created by workers out of their work trucks for fun, or they may be designed by hobbyists for special events. They are sometimes also referred to as Art Trucks.
Shin Bakusou Dekotora Densetsu - Tenkatouitsu Chyoujyoukessen - Deco-Tora X Geijutsu-den: Truckin' ain't easy, the road ain't no place to start a family, and all that other jazz. Prove the first statement wrong by getting behind the wheel of a big rig and haul tonnage across the highways of Japan. Skilled virtual truckers make bank by delivering shipments on time and monies may be used to upgrade trucks with gear as well as masterful artwork on the side panels and the back door of the rig.
As for proving the second statement wrong, a story mode in the game allows love starved truckers to hook up with a suitable gal along their routes and start a family.
Famous trucks from the real world will make an appearance in this trucking game as you play, re-created in full 3D, complete with their original artwork. In addition to all sorts of licensed parts and paints, many of which are just for show and don't affect the performance of your truck, Spike has licensed famous "Deko Trucks" for use in the game, giving you the chance to race against famous names from the trucking world.
Seven modes of play feature in Shin Bakusou Dekotora Densetsu, including main trucking mode of play where you make deliveries throughout Japan, collecting money and upgrading your truck along the way -- starting with a simple truck, your goal is to become the number one trucker in Japan -- and a story mode featuring characters from the series so far, and including a few romantic entanglements.
