Homura Motoki was walking down the street one day with his girlfriend Yuuna when they were struck by a car. When he woke up in the hospital, he realized something incredible had happened. He was having an out of body experience and no one seems to be able to see or hear him. Floating around in the air, Motoki set off to find Yuuna, only to discover she has lost all her memories of him because of the accident.

With only a few days left until his body can no longer be sustained, Motoki must now find a way to make Yuuna remember him so he can return back to his body.

Omoi no Kakera - Close to: A freak car accident occurs and you are seriously injured. Your in-game persona migrates from human body to fleeting existence as disembodied spirit. The first indication of this new state of affairs is the non-reaction of a nurse who passes you by in the hospital where you see your physical form.

The aim of the game is to find a way to return to your comatose body and live again - by joining soul to flesh once again. The way to life is by interacting indirectly with four girls in the game and your best friend Fujisaki Ryusaku. The interaction in the game occurs in the rooms of the girls, school, and other locales. The player maneuvers a finger cursor to move objects and examine things in order to make a character react or remember you. Using physical powers will however drain your "sense soul power" which affects your energy level. Characters in the game include the tomboyish Shoko Shiomi and your girlfriend Yuna, who has forgotten you. Use cues and wistful soul power to make her remember.

The game includes a radio talk CD.
