The development of snowboarding was inspired by skateboarding, sledding, surfing and skiing. It was developed in the United States in the 1960s and became a Winter Olympic Sport in 1998.

Boarders gives players the thrill of snowboarding via the immense snow-packed environments of Japan's Hokkaido Mountains like no other extreme sports game before it. Boasting more than 30 varied courses and 20 different kinds of stunts, Happy! Happy!! Boarders mixes traditional downhill racing and trick play with a full-scale romantic adventure mode, challenging time trials, and a myriad of menu extras like a Juke Box player, alternate costumes, and more.
