Ga-rou-den is a series of Japanese martial arts novels by Baku Yumemakura. They have been adapted as a feature film, a manga by Keisuke Itagaki (of Baki the Grappler fame), and two video games. The film was released on January 25, 1995. The two video games are Ga-rou-den Breakblow, released November 17, 2005 and Ga-rou-den Breakblow Fist or Twist, released March 15, 2007, both for PlayStation 2.
Bunshichi Tanba is a man who loves to fight. He seeks out opponents wherever they might be found, but one day he stumbles upon an underground fighting league and is promptly humiliated by an opponent much stronger than himself, and he vows to become stronger and to return for a rematch.
Ga-rou-den Breakblow is a 3D fighting game based on the manga by Baku Yumemakura and Keisuke Itagaki. Choose from a variety of martial arts experts, each with their own special techniques and special moves. There is a focus on grappling and submission moves, and unlike most fighting games, the two combatants share a life bar which will move back and forth depending on performance, and granting the use of different special moves. The game offers a standard story mode where the the story can be experienced with different characters, as well as a versus mode, a training mode, and a survival mode.
Garouden Breakblow - Fist Or Twist is the second game in the fighting series, it features 22 characters and the same game modes that the first game got.
