Long ago two planes of existence split, leaving humans to tend to their world and the immensely powerful Arcana to live in the Elemental World. The only means of communication between the two worlds comes from Maidens, young girls whose special relationships also afford them great physical abilities.
Eleven such Maidens have come together in Arcana Heart, in hopes of preventing the mysterious Mildred Avalon from harnessing the power of the Arcana and destroying humanity in the process. Gamers choose from 11 fighters and then select from 11 accompanying Arcana, each with different skills that improve the Maidens' attack and defense, for a total of 121 different fighting styles. Fighting fans can battle in arcade, story, versus, and training modes, and the gallery mode is full of unlockable extras.
The game includes standard story, arcade, and versus modes, along with a training mode and an unlockable illustration gallery. Players can choose between the original version of the characters or the rebalanced versions from the arcade update Arcana Heart FULL!
STORY:
Beyond our world lies that of the Elemental beings, the Arcana. These mighty spirits offer their abilities to the Maidens, those rare humans who are able to communicate with them. Long ago, our worlds were connected. However, the two worlds unexpectedly split apart, and a dimensional boundary was formed between them, separating our world from the Arcana. Seeking to harness their energy, the mysterious Mildred Avalon is trying to form a rift in the boundary and merge the worlds once more. Should her plan succeed, life on our world will never be the same again. Only the Maidens, with the help of their Arcana, can prevent her from bringing an end to all humanity.
