Kakugee Yarou - Fighting Game Creator or Kakuge Yaro Fighting Game Creator Like ASCII's Fighter Maker, thankfully comes with a "pre-made" game and characters. In Fighter Maker, a lot of work would be involved in even meeting the factory preset standards. With Kakuge-Yaro, however, you could bang something out on the level of the sample game in probably 15 minutes--but the simple toolset means you can never do better.
To speak to the game engine, it's standard 2D with three different attacks and a button for dodge/parry/throw/super. Juggling is loose and there is air recovery. Each character has three moves and one super--one move per attack button, so there are no "weak/medium/strong" variations on moves at all. It's pretty basic.
The editor is very simple and should be straightforward enough for anyone whose brain doesn't shut down at the sight of Japanese. You create characters based on the existing seven templates and assign them attributes and moves.
Unlike Fighter Maker, you're not really "creating" anything, just assigning different pre-made moves to various slots. Each character has around 20 different normals each to choose from for standing/crouching/jumping, and you can assign a "command" attack to each strength if you like. There are about 25 special moves and 10 supers for each character. Between the number of selections and the palette editor, you could potentially create a cast made up of ten versions of the same template.
The game got a partial english translation patch made by Saito.
