Shigeru Mizuki, born March 8, 1922 in Sakaiminato, Tottori, is a Japanese manga author, most known for his shonen Japanese horror manga GeGeGe no Kitaro (which was originally titled "Hakaba Kitaro"; see the article in question for details). A specialist in stories of yokai, he is considered a master of the genre. To a lesser but still notable degree, he is also known for his World War II memoirs, as well as a writer and biographer.
Mizuki Shigeru No Yokai Butouden is a fighting game based on the universe and characters created by this japanese manga author. The game features 8 different characters (based on Japanese demons like Tengu, Oni, Yurei, Kaiju, Kappa, and a snow ghost girl).
- Kappa: is a type of aquatic yokai or water deity that inhabits the rivers in rural Japan.
- Konaki-jiji is a yokai in the local folklore of the Tokushima prefecture in Japan.
- Oni are creatures from Japanese folklore, variously translated as demons, devils, ogres or trolls.
- Yuki-onna is a ghost or yokai found in Japanese folklore.
- Tengu are mountain and forest goblins or yokai in Japanese mythology, sometimes worshipped as Shinto kami (revered spirits or gods).
- Yurei are Japanese ghosts.
The game have 2 modes: Story mode and a vs mode against another human player.
