Soccer Kid is a video game that was released in 1994 for the Super NES, 3DO Interactive Multiplayer, Amiga & Amiga CD32. Its title for the Super NES in the United States is The Adventures of Kid Kleets. It was re-released for the Game Boy Advance on September 30, 2002 and the PlayStation on December 13, 2003.
While the title might suggest a sports game, this is in fact a platform game - the goal was to guide a little soccer player boy through various levels, using his soccer ball as the main tool. The player was able to perform runs, shots, bicycle kicks, headers and other sorts of soccer moves to either advance in the level or eliminate enemies.
The Amiga CD32 version of the game features a new intro with a full motion video sequence that is missed on other versions and digital audio tracks. The Playstation version features a different mix of the game musics in audio tracks format.
Manufacturer's description:
A million miles away in outer space, far above the planet Earth, an alien pirate is scanning the area for a trophy of great importance to add to its enormous collection. "Beep beep beep" goes the scanner as it locates the Universal Soccer Trophy, the most prestigious soccer award on the planet, shining brightly in the sun. Suddenly, a blanket of darkness falls over the stadium as the pirate spaceship materializes. The crowd becomes numb as the Universal Soccer Trophy disappears from view. Seconds later, as the spaceship flees to outer space.... Bang! the spaceship collides with an asteroid.
