In the vein of Top Gun and Namco's acclaimed Air Combat comes Top Gun: Fire at Will! Players will assume the role of an up and coming hotshot pilot named Maverick and guide him through the Top Gun training academy. After acquiring the necessary skills, you'll begin a tour of duty with the Navy and be assigned top priority air missions!

As a fighter pilot, you'll carry out a barrage of missions set throughout Mimar, Cuba, Korea, and Libya. Commander Honda, played by James Tolkan, will be acting as the assigning officer -- screw up and he'll gnaw on your butt and spit it out! Missions include search and destroy operations, protecting ally planes and important people, and good old-fashioned dogfights with enemy MiGs.

Players will be manning the F-14 fighter plane. Not only does this baby come with all the necessary tools and equipment needed for survival (radar, warning lights, altitude meters), it comes with a variety of missiles; there are standard air-to-air missiles, the air-to-ground AGMs, U238s made from depleted uranium, a disastrous Nuke, and the multiple target MIRV. It also comes with some defensive tools such as chaffs and flares that trick enemy radar.

Don't worry, you're not going in the air alone! Merlin will act as your Radar Intercept Officer; loosely translated, he's the guy that sits behind you and watches out for enemy target locks. Additionally, the sweetly calm Raven and your arch rival Stinger will assist Maverick as his wingmen. When you get in a sticky situation, count on these guys to help you out!

Top Gun: Fire at Will features a single-player Campaign mode and an Options menu. The Options menu lets players select a difficulty level (trainee, pilot, and ace) as well as sound and music levels and various controller configurations. The Campaign is the real deal; this is where you'll be taking mission objectives and flying in the not-so-friendly skies.
