In this one-on-one fighting game based on the famous plastic robot fighters, players not only get to pit various Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots up against one another, they also get to customize their bots' various parts to make them even more steel-twisting and destructive than before.

Players initially have 12 different robots to choose from before they head off to the arena. With names such as Slamurai, Sir Haxalot, and General Warfare, it's easy to see that Mattel Interactive is going for a bit of a tongue-and-cheek feel. While the names aren't overly serious, the fighting is less comedic, with the robots throwing all of their various armaments at their opponents in order to assure destruction. These weapons are varied, from swords to bombs to Gatling guns. Each robot starts with a different set of weapons, and depending on the mode you're playing, their attacks can be altered and switched around.

The heart of the game and the majority of the customization comes into play in the Career mode. In this mode players must advance through the Arena ranks, competing in the Bronze, Silver or Gold leagues. Players can challenge bots directly above them or anywhere below them. Winning earns money that can be used to buy all new parts. Parts range from arms with extra weapons to legs that will allow for more mobility or stronger footing. Once players make it through the leagues and win the belts, they will be able to take on the Boss Bots.

In the Versus mode, one or two players will play through a match until one robot is victorious. Practice mode gives you a chance to train with your bot outside of the rigors of real combat. And Stakes mode lets you and a friend fight each other, with special prizes going to the winner.

  Manufacturer's description:

Rock'em Sock'em Robots Arena gives you the power to rip off your opponent's body parts and attach them to yourself. Turn the enemy into rubbish with their own weapons or save the parts you collect for future victims. The more you win, the more powerful you become. You're not just competing for pride and honor, you're fighting for limbs!

14 menacing 3D robots like Ben Hurt, Tywrenchula and Sir Haxalot each with its own signature moves and special weapons to turn enemies into scrap metal!
