Triple Play 99 has a lot to offer for baseball fans. And as usual EA Sports always does a complete job on sports games. All the Major league teams and their rosters are up to date. All of the stadiums are reproduced in 3D to the last detail. Start a new season or play an exhibition against a friend. Modes like Playoffs, Tournament, Home Run Derby, and All-Star Game are included.

Triple Play 99 keeps track of every stat, players have their unique stances, and pitchers have their favorite pitches. The sound and commentary are top quality. Announcers do play by play accurately, talk about player stats, and even do a little comedy when the game gets slow. Triple Play 99 is a complete baseball game.

Game Modes:
- Other modes include single-game exhibition, home run derby, play-off, tournament, season and manager.
- The new career mode allows you to play multiple seasons. Tournament mode allows you to create a custom tournament with up to eight teams.
- The Full-league draft allows you to build your own team from scratch using trade points, that determine the amount of and skill of players you can acquire.
- Manager mode has you looking at all the statistics behind the game instead of the more action based actual ball game.
