Gamers are invited to bring back their big hair, neon shirts, and lace fingerless gloves, and revisit a decade of music in SingStar: '80s. Players can pick up the microphone and sing alone or with friends as they attempt to earn high scores for each song. Thirty licensed tracks and videos are available, including hits from The Cure, Duran Duran, Survivor, Vanilla Ice, and Madonna. Depending of each country release the songlist is different.
The game gives points which are distributed by the purity of singing, as in how well does one manage to stay on tune. It doesn't matter if you change octaves in the middle of the song or what words are you singing in (it doesn't have a word recognition), so your singing is rated by how well you manage to hit the correct note at the correct time.
