The truth is out there on PS2, but it's up to players to find it. The first X-Files game on the system is set during the FOX television series' seventh season. FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are sent to investigate the strange circumstances surrounding several murders in the Rocky Mountain area. What begins as a routine investigation quickly unravels into a quest to stop an alien invasion before it's too late. The X-Files: Resist or Serve is an adventure game consisting of three episodes crafted by the show's executive producers.

As is routine for the team of paranormal investigators, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully travel to a small town in the Rocky Mountains to dig into the source of some strange and unexplained murders. The two prime suspects are girls accused of practicing witchcraft, but Mulder believes there's more to the story. Each episode has two acts, and takes players from secret facilities, to FBI headquarters, to a remote location in Siberia in search of the truth.

Authentic music from the series has been included to heighten the mood, and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson recorded the game's dialogue along with other key members of the cast. Bonus material includes behind-the-scenes commentary and interviews with those involved in creating the game.
