A visual novel is an interactive fiction game, featuring mostly static graphics, most often using anime-style art or occasionally live-action stills (and sometimes video footage). In Japanese terminology, a distinction is often made between visual novels proper (abbreviated NVL), which consist predominantly of narration and have very few interactive elements.

Visual novels are distinguished from other game types by their extremely minimal gameplay. Typically the majority of player interaction is limited to clicking to keep the text, graphics and sound moving (most recent games offer "play" or "fast-forward" toggles that make even this unnecessary).

S.Y.K Shinsetsu Saiyuuki: The Chinese classic Saiyuki has been adapted into various anime and games. From action adventure to fighting, this classic has many dramatic moments. This time, under the developers of Idea Factory, famous for dating simulations such as Hiiro no Kakera, this Chinese Classic becomes a romantic adventure.

Erde Nezu no Ki no Shitade: Step into the shoes of a teenager named Takumi and find love amongst the eligible lassies in town. Girls that Takumi will run into include a 16-year old girl named Yoko who gets into an motorbike accident at Takumi's house. Being the gentleman that he is, Tak offers to let Yoko stay at his place in order to recuperate. Then there's the older but wiser 24 year old Kay who teaches children at the local school and takes a liking to Takumi. Along with the gals, childhood buddy Akira tags along to give support and conversation.

One day, a motorcycle crashes into Takumi's house, an ordinary man living in a village. The driver of the motorcycle is Yoko, a traveller who wants to discover the world. As a payment, she wants to stay in Takumi's house for a while. During her stay, Takumi starts asking himself if he should also start discovering new things...

Erde Nezu no Ki no Shitade was first release for the Dreamcast console and the Playstation 2 version featuring japanese voice acting and new graphic engine.

Adventure game depicting the story of love and hero Takumi living and the world, such as the sleepy countryside, in the world of two virtual world that is sophisticated "Town", and the girls there meet.
